What is Child Sponsorship?

Child Sponsorship is a bold act of love a commitment to transform a child’s life through a monthly gift. Your support provides the essentials for growth: education, stationery, uniforms, nutritious meals, clean water, and a safe, nurturing environment. You empower a child to rise, fulfill their potential, and become a future leader and change-maker.

We work hand-in-hand with communities to address the root causes of poverty, neglect, and abuse, creating lasting solutions that break cycles of hardship. Every one-time gift or monthly contribution ignites hope, restores dignity, and opens doors to brighter futures.

Our children matter not just here, but in the whole world. Build with us. Sponsor with us. Donate with us.

Because when a child rises, we all rise.

WHAT YOU MAY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT CHILD SPONSORSHIP

What is Home Network of Africa — Build · Sponsor · Donate

Home Network of Africa, founded by Christopher Njoroge, is a lifeline and voice for overlooked children. We restore dignity, protection, and opportunity through education, safe spaces, and sponsorship. We champion vulnerable children, the girl child, and those in crisis, providing humanitarian aid and pro-bono legal support.

Every child deserves a chance. Every child deserves a future.

What does sponsoring a child mean? Sponsoring a child means entering into a supportive relationship with a vulnerable child—such as an orphan, a child at risk, or a child affected by illness. Your support equips the child with:

  • Access to education and learning materials
  • Healthcare and nutritional support
  • Emotional guidance and mentorship
  • Opportunities to develop skills for the future

Updates: We strive to annually update your child’s information sheet and photo. Your sponsored child will write you letters at least three times a year. If you send letters, cards, or photos, your child will greatly appreciate them and feel encouraged.

Acknowledgment of Letters or Gifts: Every gift or letter your child receives will be acknowledged with a thank-you note. The program will also notify you of significant milestones or events in your child’s life.

Gifts: You are welcome to send gifts, but financial support is encouraged so your child receives what they need most. This ensures flexibility, safety, and the greatest impact.

Program Updates: We provide newsletters and program updates every 2–3 months so sponsors can track their child’s progress and activities.

Visitation: Sponsors are welcome to visit their child. Proper arrangements can be made, and a special visitation form is available upon request.

Child Rights: We uphold children’s rights rigorously and urge all sponsors to do the same. Sponsors are responsible for helping protect and support children’s rights in all aspects.

Child Privacy: All children’s information is confidential. Sponsors must respect privacy, especially for children in sensitive situations. The program will guide you on privacy matters when needed.

Program Exit Age: Children exit the sponsorship program at 22 years old, once they are equipped with skills to live independently and contribute positively to society.

Donation Frequency: The frequency of your donation depends on your chosen sponsorship category. Education sponsorship generally costs $40 per month.

Administrative Support: Optional donations help cover administrative costs such as staff salaries, office operations, calls, and internet, ensuring the smooth running of the program.

Children’s Programs: Children attend monthly centers for mentorship, discipleship, skill- building, and recreational activities. Programs focus on building confidence, leadership, and moral values.

Other Programs: The organization runs additional child-focused programs, all designed to reach vulnerable children and provide holistic support.

Volunteer Opportunities: Diverse volunteer programs give supporters the chance to serve in areas such as teaching, mentorship, healthcare, advocacy, event coordination, and community outreach.

In addition
  • Emergency Support: Your sponsorship can provide emergency aid to children in crises, such as natural disasters, illness, or displacement.
  • Special Needs Support: Children with disabilities receive specialized attention, therapy, and adaptive learning tools.
  • Mentorship Programs: Sponsored children benefit from mentorship that develops leadership, self-confidence, and life skills.
  • Nutrition Programs: Sponsors contribute to healthy meals and proper nutrition, ensuring children grow strong and healthy.
  • Community Engagement: The program works closely with families and communities to create sustainable solutions that improve children’s lives.
  • Spiritual and Moral Guidance: Children receive guidance based on moral and ethical principles, fostering integrity, purpose, and hope.
